As Food Safety Manager the focus will be on implementing and monitoring the systems and procedures that will ensure the business is producing safe compliant products and meeting its policies and obligations to food safety. Duties include leading HACCP activities including HACCP audit and validation, delivering training and promoting awareness within Food Safety, Quality and HACCP across the site. The jobholder will also manage COSHH, chemical approval and control processes for chemicals, and will lead allergen control programmes.
There will be a requirement to investigate Food Safety issues such as complaints and non-conformance, identify root causes and implement preventative and corrective actions, utilising improvement tools such as 6 Sigma. Auditing will be a key duty of the role, including the undertaking of HACCP, Internal and Customer Audits to ensure legislative compliance. The Food Safety managers performance will be measured by compliance with annual Food Safety complaint target, reduction in Food Safety complaints and A Grade achieved in BRC Audits.
The individual who takes this role on will be keen to train and develop a small team, and will want to drive change and improve ways of working. We are seeking an individual with an enquiring mind who is confident to challenge existing ways of working in the pursuit of improving the business and implementing more robust food safety systems and procedures.
The Person
We would be delighted to hear from individuals who have been Food Safety Supervisors or Food Safety Managers and hold Level 3 HACCP and Level 2 Food Hygiene, combined with a track record in the management of food safety within a food production environment. Experience of BRC, Internal and HACCP Auditing is also expected. Ref 2867
