The position is a shift role, typically working shifts 6am – 2pm or 2pm – 10pm Monday to Friday.
This role reports into the Laboratory Manager and will involve working as part of a small cohesive Lab team. Duties will include, following the quality manual to ensure methods used to analyse samples are accredited and meet company procedures, perform Lab tests accurately and disseminate results notifying the Lab Manager and Quality team when test results show errors, non-conformance, or deviations from expected results. The individual appointed will be working with Chemicals and will be trained within COSHH.
The Lab Co-ordinator will be undertaking tests on a variety of materials at different stages of the process including raw materials, finished products, part-finished products. The jobholder will work safely and will maintain accurate and up-to-date sample analysis records on internal systems and databases, including communicating relevant information at shift changeover. The Lab Co-ordinator will also get involved with company-wide Continuous Improvement initiatives and will assist the Quality team with Audits.
This role would appeal to a recent Graduate with a Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related Scientific discipline. Some experience of working in an analytical laboratory in a manufacturing environment would benefit your application. Salary/Rate: £11.50 per hour (£23,920 pa) - Hours 40 hours per week Days Monday to Friday
