The role holder will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the production facility, warehouse/store, despatch and transport. The position is classed as a senior manager on site and the Operations Manager will form part of the senior site team. It is important that the Operations Manager understands the bigger picture, such as the Commercial pressures of the business.
The Operations Manager will be tasked with meeting a range of KPIs such as: output versus production plan, health & safety, product specification met, quality, waste, absenteeism, on time in full delivery. There will be a particular focus on Production, Quality and Distribution. The jobholder will manage (and be supported by) a team of department Heads and Supervisors, and will get involved in multi-disciplinary continuous improvement activities and lean initiatives aimed at improving efficiencies within production and operational areas.
We are seeking applications from individuals with broad operational experience gained from within a busy food manufacturing site where their remit included production, warehouse and transport. The individual who takes on this role must be a mature and logical thinker with rounded knowledge of how high-performing food manufacturing sites function and departments interconnect. Whilst being a management role that will involve reporting back to company directors, this is still a very ‘hands on’ position, from checking production on lines, to helping out in the warehouse as part of the team when cover is needed. This role is based in Wiltshire, the Salary is £42,000 pa to £46,000 pa + Benefits |
