Working Days Monday to Friday, the Production Manager appointed will work from a new production facility in Chester, where two process and packing lines will be operating 5 days a week. The role will require a ‘start-up’ mentality as the business has plans in place to significantly increase production volumes over the coming months. Internally, the Manager appointed will have close liaison with the Factory Manager, Operations/Technical Manager and Maintenance Manager.
The appointed Production Manager / Shift Manager will use their relevant experience to manage a relatively small food production site, within a modern building. They will introduce CI methodologies to the site, ensure Quality parameters are being met and H&S systems and procedures are being adhered to. There will be a requirement to measure and report on operational KPI’s, apply a ‘right first time’ approach, review, compile and implement SOP’s and best practices and ensure these are embraced by the team.
There will be responsibility for managing Dispatch and liaising with Head Office in relation to Purchasing / Finance / Planning / Quality. The jobholder will be expected to motivate and manage the team ensuring high levels of performance, dealing with any issues effectively. There will be the opportunity to get involved in the testing and installation of new equipment and supporting the Technical team with the selection of raw materials and testing new product concepts and overseeing the introduction of new products into full-scale manufacturing.Â
Over the medium-term it is envisaged that the site will run across 3 shifts, with the Production Manager overseeing this expansion, so we are seeking an individual with experience gained within a high-volume fast-paced food manufacturer, in a Production Manager or Shift Manager capacity. It is imperative that applicants are comfortable working in a flat hierarchy where the culture is to focus on ‘skills’ and the forming of teams with the right mix of skills to overcome production challenges.
