A successful, profitable and expanding business, this organisation is a leading food manufacturer supplying wholesalers, caterers and high street retailers. They are currently seeking to appoint a Production Team Leader to work a flexible day shift at their modern food production plant in Essex.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the appointed Team Leader will have full autonomy for the activities of the Production team and will provide direction, support and leadership. With a hands-on approach the Production Team Leader will allocate tasks, manage the labour resource to ensure the production plan is met, maintain standards and ensure all members of the production team are fully trained and working safely and effectively.
The individual appointed will cover a diverse range of responsibilities and take ownership for their production area and team. This will include the training, development and direct supervision of 12-15 individuals. There will be a requirement to drive performance and results, achieving KPI’s such as Waste, Quality, Hygiene, Yield and Health & Safety. The Production Team Leader will maintain accurate records, support the Manufacturing Manager, liaise with internal contacts, and have the foresight to meet production challenges and address under-performance by implementing change.Â
The Production Team Leader appointed will work a day-based shift but must have the flexibility to be able to vary their hours to meet the demands of the business. The role will also include some weekend working.
We are keen to hear from individuals with a solid track record in a leadership position. Experience within Food Manufacturing is beneficial but not essential and we will consider candidates with production supervisory experience gained within other manufacturing sectors such as: Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Personal Care, Automotive, Packaging Consumables, Cosmetics, Petrochemicals.Â
Salary: £26,000 pa to £32,000 pa depending on experience. Ref 2846
